You can learn about Southampton’s local history at the museum, such as the port’s history, archaeology, and diverse maritime. Solent Sky is one of Southampton’s famous museums that depicts the incredible story of aviation in Hampshire and the Solent region and has more than 20 airframes from the golden age of aviation on display. Southampton was once home to the largest boat flying operation internationally. You can hop aboard the short Sandringham flying boat; this is a fantastic exhibit with the plane boat’s history pinned on the actual plane. Other flying boats you can include the Saunders-roe, a jet fighting flying boat, Supermarine swift, hawker Siddeley harrier, Follond gannat, and various others. All the flying boasts are interactive exhibits that you can hop on aboard and go back in time. This is an exciting experience for all ages. Solent Sky is also the home of the Hampshire Police and Fire Heritage Collection! The Hampshire Police and Fire Heritage Trust was formed to preserve the rich history of Police and Fire Services that have served Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for over 180 years. Wander down the rows packed with historical objects and pictures to show service advancement over the years. The museums are perfect for spending quality family or alone time while creating everlasting memories.

Mayflower Park is a stunning Riverside spot based in Southampton. Perfect for walks, picnics, activities, and just enjoying the scenery. The park is a focal point for civic events and has traditional play areas for children. Mayflower Park is a stretch of green with its waterside famous for boat races drawing in crowds. The park has a gaming area there are also facilities such as toilets and a car park, so you do not have to worry about parking.
